Asked why Narongchai chose to lead the improvement of the Saensuk Municipality, he noted that he was born here. His father, Somchai Kunpluem, was a former mayor of the Saensuk Municipality who developed the municipality to become a tourist destination. Consequently, Narongchai has alwayswanted to follow his father’s path. He was not hesitant when he was elected.

Saensuk, as known as Bangsaen, has been the tourist destination for most Thai and foreign visitors for the past 50 years. Governing management style has been changed as time passes as well. Narongchai noted that although he emphasizes on developing the municipality to be the tourist destination, every consideration that has been implemented is practical and suitable. Balance has been kept; otherwise, unpleasant results may happen.

There are four strategies under the Narongchai administration as follows;
- Development of society and people’s daily lives
- Support of tourism and economy
- Arrangement of natural resources and environmental ambience
- Outstanding management

Every strategy is beneficial to each other, which will lead to sustainable development Narongchai has aimed for.

The mayor wants to see an expansion of the Saensuk Municipality in the long term efficiently. Its Bangsaen beach has been a driving force for local economy. It is necessary to use the sustainable development strategy as well as sufficient economy coordinated by all sides.

Due to an increasing number of population and visitors, it causes pollutions in which all sides must help resolving these troubles and preserve natural resources sustainably.

Changes have been seen in ways of life. The municipality is attempting to create strengths in every community. For instance, it hosts local traditional ceremonies, supports and collects folk wisdoms in order to educate the younger generation.

Management plays a vital role in improving the municipality. If human resources and management systems are functional, end results will be satisfactory.

From the strategies listed above, both Saensuk people and visitors can be certain that they will see a number of projects supporting tourism in future.

Narongchai said before finishing the interview that apart from Bangsaen beach, Saensuk also offers another beach such as Laemtaen, Bangsaen Walking Street, Sam Muk Mountain (There is the loved legend), the Institute of Marine Science of Burapha University, Nongmon Market where can buy various of souvenirs, Kao Lam that is a famous goods from here, Marine products both fresh and dried, Fruit snacks are suitable to be processed as a souvenir. In addition, to tourist attractions, there are historic that registered with the Department of Fine Arts there and a festival, cultural events to enjoy throughout the year.
